2010 proved to be a good year for high speed doors, with our sales increasing well over our targets. The introduction of the new Turboroll E and the PL7 helped, but still we sold an increasing number of external fold-up Turbofold doors as well as the Turbofold Chiller Doors.
Maintenance was still high on our agenda and this area of our business also showed considerable increases in volume.
Sales of steel hinged doors increased due to additional contracts to provide security doors for the increasing number of substations attached to new windfarms.
Most companies also now want to see safe working and are particularly keen to have engineers on site who have the relevant H&S Certification. Training is a large part of our company structure and all engineers have to have the CSCS card when they join us or obtain the necessary qualifications during their first three months with the company.
Further growth during 2010 has led us to a search for additional engineers based in the area, who have a good working knowledge of the full range of products we supply, install and maintain.
Sales of the door for internal openings up to 3000 x 3000, offering a low cost alternative to other overseas door manufacturers have gone exceptionally well.
Along with repeat orders, new customers have had some success in purchasing a lower priced door which still gives good quality service life.
The door uses a three-phase prewired, braked GFA motor with thermal protection and with an emergency winding handle for use if there is a power failure. The guides are extruded polypropolene, the curtains come with a wireless safety edge when required. Vision optional.
The 24v controls come in an IP55 control box. All current activators can be used with the doors.
Our first low voltage traffic light was a huge success and after numerous requests we have developed a 240v model which can be exchanged with existing 240v models which some of our customers had and wanted to replace. The prewired units make changeover of existing lights even easier.
The original LED light was 24VAC/DC but the improvements over our previous LTL18 are that the units come pre-wired as standard, so maintaining the IP66 rating. The cowl is now included and incorporates a fixing bracket. The LEDs, while still retaining their high light output, offer a wider angle of view so that they are ideal for use on high speed doors where traffic can approach from differing directions. LED lights are often only visible when approached head on. These new LEDs offer a wider range of viewing, yet still retain their brightness.
AND even better, the new lights are offered at more competitive prices.
More popular now than rubber bumpers, the PE moving bumper range is usually chosen for their expected longer life.
