External Openings
Despite many companies offering roller type doors for these applications the wind forces operating on some of them make them unsuited to external openings. Adding intermediate poles to reduce the wind surface area is not always successful. The problems with external doors is that a pressure change inside the building can cause the curtain to blow out, rather than just increased wind loading from the outside.
We recommend a fold-up door, with reinforcing wind bars at intervals, so ensuring the door can not blow out, or be sucked in, by pressure or wind changes.
High Speed Doors
Definition: flexible fabric curtain door, with automated system which allows it to open and close at speeds higher than conventional steel security doors. Generally used in areas of high volume traffic - pedestrian or motorised - where it is important to maintain temperatures, reduce temperature losses, give added hygiene to the area or to make the working area quieter and under better temperature control.

Internal Openings
Criteria here depends on the application. A range of roller and folding doors is available, each suited to different production requirements.
HYGIENE - Pharmaceutical or food industry doors can require stainless steel, or ppowder coat paint finish. If ultra clean washdown areas, then IP66 is usually recommended for all electrics, not just the control box. Clean curved lines of the structure can eliminate major build up of dust and dirt. Metal guides and special curtain both of which will not attract static which causes dust build up.
TEMPERATURE CONTROL - Food industry especially want to be able to keep temperatures constant and wherever possible reduce the amount of refrigeration needed, while allowing the constant trffic flow which normally causes temperature loss. EASTERN offer an insulated curtain door which gives the added advantage of insulation while the door is closed as well as speed when opening and closing.
NOISE CONTROL - Although there is no great noise reduction value in most high speed doors, one can expect around 17 dB reduction - almost as a PVC strip curtain would give.
WAREHOUSE applications where there is a need for containment of temperature, dust, dirt and noise, a range of roller or folding doors are available.
